ARE WE RESPONSIBLE??

We all see a lot of social issues happening around us. Take a stroll in your locality and you will come across various social issues which we overlook thinking that its non of our concern to do anything about it. But is is really none of our business? Is it really so small to be noticed? some will agree in saying Yes and the rest will show the same negligence for this like they do for all the happenings in their lives. We all know that we ourselves are responsible for our lives and karma but if you dig deep down the reality you will come to know that everyone's life is directly or indirectly affected by the deeds of masses or society as we all call it. We use big words like customs, traditions, rituals and so one to maintain peace and order in the society and to develop a valuable framework for the generations to come. Then why when our young ones go against certain points or ask for a change we get irritated and frustrated because we think that they are being disobedient. Let me ask you one thing what you do to your clothes when they are old and tight...you alter them. same is the case with our society we have to bring certain changes gradually in order to give a better nurturing to our generations to come. I am not saying to fulfill all the demands of the younger generation but try to understand their perspective as well.
There is a quote " what you sow so shall you reap" if you go according to the literal meaning of it it means your outcome is in reaction to your input. The older generation and the younger generation are mainly in contradictions with each other because as per the older lot the young are not good, or they are not following the so called society-norms and so on... we always comment that the younger lot is this and that..but have we ever noticed that why they are like that. who is responsible for it they or us, we in order to maintain harmony and prove that we are compatible with the new modernization keep on accepting new changes and make others also to follow it. Here the point it upto what limit you can allow this alteration. First we ignore and later we roar. This all needs to be taken in some considerations. We can't put everything on the coming generation we also need to work in order to make the younger generation understand the essential values and concepts of life. We are equally responsible for any change like the future and current generations. Think before its too late.

Gender Sensitization

It is a very famous idiom" As you sow, so shall you reap". it justifies almost everything prevailing in this Earth in terms of investments, agriculture, value, attitudes, and even issues which are alarming facts these days. We all are facing a lot of troubles in our day to day routine domestic, social, financial, identity and the list never ends. inequality in the society is very common on all grounds. if when talk about particular matter of inequality of gender we have lots of contradictions, conflicts of thoughts and perceptions. These days its like a cancer prevailing into the blood of society, we all know about it, we talk about it and then forget about it. Nobody is interested in taking initiative to fight this disease. when we talk about such issue in public we come across various stereotypes:
Women are meant for the household. (irrespective of the fact that women are shoulder to shoulder in almost all the fields of work.)
Men are the rulers and they should not be under any restrictions. (whether acceptable behavior is there or not)
Women in short dresses or western attire are certified object of pleasure.
Men commits a mistake. part of life. Women commits a mistake..make her life hell.
child labor: Girl or Boy hardly matters
When we read such statements some of us advocate them, some go against them and for some its not a matter of concern till the time they face it at any level of their lives. But the question arises, why despite of every law made, structured law bodies and judiciary such in-human discrimination is prevailing in the society?
Secondly, for how long we are going to bear it? Thirdly, what is the root cause of the problem?
Every parent desires and work hard in order to inculcate the best education, values and etiquette in their children and they do strive hard in keeping up the standards of their family, sow the seed of traditions and cultures which their ancestors have left in them. There is hardly any parent who teach the daughter to play with her life and act anti-socially or the son to rape, steel or murder any one. But still these things are prevailing on a very large scale.. Who is responsible? Here, i would like to be a little more in your eyes and say.. US. We the people of the society are responsible for it either directly or indirectly. Its high time now that we should start taking actions big or small in order to control it. Lets say for instance the basic steps are about making people and mainly the upcoming people "Gender-Sensitive" while talking to you about it I am very much aware of the fact that there will be many people who will not accept such talks because they are so rigid and firm with whatever they are following or have been following for ages. When I am talking about it I am not at all looking about it in a feminist manner that we should make males aware of how to deal with females and be more sensitive towards their problems or take actions against the exploitation being done to them. I am here taking a stand in order to see both the sides of the coins and stop portraying females always the victim of the cruel brutality of life, it can also be the other way round even males can also be under pressure due to some undue molestation and injustice done to them by life or human.Let me quote an example:
1. "Nirbhaya" Delhi Gang-Rape Case - December 2012
The 2012 Delhi gang rape case involved a rape and fatal assault that occurred on 16 December 2012 in Munirka, a neighbourhood in South Delhi, when a 23-year-old female physiotherapy intern[2] was beaten and gang raped in a private bus in which she was travelling with a male friend. There were six others in the bus, including the driver, all of whom raped the woman and beat her friend. The woman died from her injuries thirteen days later while undergoing emergency treatment in Singapore.[3][4] The incident generated widespread national and international coverage and was widely condemned, both in India and abroad. Subsequently, public protests against the state and central governments for failing to provide adequate security for women took place in New Delhi, where thousands of protesters clashed with security forces. Similar protests took place in major cities throughout the country.
2.Boy abducted for ransom, killed, chopped into pieces April 2014
On April 17, Rohan Gucchait (12), a Class VII student, was kidnapped by an electrician employed by his jeweler father. An accomplice called up with ransom demand of Rs 50 lakh, warned family not to go to police. When main accused learned of police complaint the next day, strangled Rohan and cut his body with an electric saw.Dumped body parts in a nullah in APMC flower market in Kalyan

Though what happened to the Nirbhaya is beyond all humanitarian grounds but we can't deny the fact that the tragedy of Rohan is less heart breaking in any manner.Though the involvement of police, media and officials was there in both the cases but still.. we remain with one thought why all this happened in the first place? We need to change us and bring change in the society. We have to take firm steps against it if we want a better and responsible future. So far, we discussed the problem and what are the triggers and stereotypes in the context to it now lets just think about the remedial measures how to change these. Firstly, We will have to try to change the rigid stereotypes already prevailing, no matter how long it takes. Secondly, we got to make our children and peer groups aware of gender sensitization. thirdly, we need to bring a change in us then only it will be wise to expect a change in the society. Lets try and put in our first attempt towards a better world and better future. because we ourselves are the potter of our future we can mold it and trust me if its not now...it will be never.

 Let us take a pledge
I _______________ take a pledge that i will try to bring change in behavior and instilling empathy into the views that I hold about my own and the other gender.I will help people in "examining their personal attitudes and beliefs and questioning the 'realities' they thought they know."
